Born in Buxton, WESTGIRL grew up surrounded by the raw energy of breakbeat and underground UK electronic music, introduced to her by her parents that would leave a lasting mark on her creativity. Having experienced homelessness, and drifting throughout many cities and towns throughout the UK, she found solace and expression through music, using it as both an outlet and a way to channel her resilience. Her sound draws deeply from the nostalgic foundations of UK underground culture, reworking breakbeat, rave, and bass-driven textures into something both innovative and deeply personal. Each track is charged with the grit of her lived experience, balancing vulnerability with defiance. Now preparing to release her debut mixtape, WESTGIRL is ready to share her vision—reviving the underground spirit while pushing it forward into new, uncharted territory. Her music is rooted in reinvention, breathing fresh life into the sounds that shaped her journey.
